Parent Smart from the Heart About Us

Derek and Gail Randel have two children. They have experienced the roller coaster ride of parenting with more dips than highs, but this has changed. They are facilitators for, "Becoming a Love and Logic Parent." They received training from Jim Fay and Foster Cline M.D. (the authors of Parenting with Love and Logic, Teaching Children Responsibility). The second program they're facilitators for is called Self Esteem Seminars for enhancing self-esteem through group and individual transformation developed by Jack Canfield (Author of Chicken Soup for the Soul). Our program is a combination of these two programs, called "Parent Smart from the Heart." We now enjoy the roller coaster ride of parenting which now has more natural highs than dips.

Derek Randel, M.A. shares his 12 years of experience as an educator in Illinois and Michigan. He has been nominated for a Disney American Teacher award and has coached numerous sport teams (baseball, fast pitch softball, volleyball, soccer, and both boys and girls basketball). As a national speaker on parenting and bullying, Derek uses common sense simple techniques that can be used immediately.

Gail Randel, M.D. is a practicing Anesthesiologist in Chicago. Gail has earned the competent toastmaster and competent leader recognition from Toastmasters International. She applies the tools she has learned on the topics of love, the importance of touch and communication skills to benefit her family, patients, residents and colleagues. She has spoken nationally on various medical issues, such as, latex allergy, airway management, and her latest interests physician wellness and effective parenting.
